I'ver been in contact with Karl and Thane Pope for years, the concept is great and most people won't feel any difference in how they ride. The cost is extreme but at the same time you save big bucks every time you fly. My advice is to check out ebay for the older fiberglass models. A few years ago I bid on a rare 8´6" custom bisect by Patagonia but I lost in the end. I still keep an eye out for that one, it would be the ultimate travel longboard.
p.s. they even make a fish, just imagine how small that one packs down!
