Hey, Fiji is sweet.
Theres a spot not west from Suva(maybe 45 min taxi, then hour by boat) which is a little surf camp out on Beqa(q sounds like ng in Fijian, so Benga) island. It's pretty primative, but they let you fish on the boat ride out there to the surf, and all in all it is well worth a week of your time.
Costed $25 u.s. a day when I was there. (I think there is a more expensive camp on Beqa too)
They'll take you out to Frigates Pass, a really nice long left reef break that is miles from land, consistant, not crowded.
I just asked around at the market in Suva and that's how I found the guys.
theres a couple maps if you google fiji maps, and Beqa is a heart shaped island just south of Viti Levu
If you go bring some extra food, like a box of power bars, cuz theres no store.
