Wondering if any of you fella's who know your wetties could help me out. Looking at ordering a new wetty and knowing that all you have tested and tried wetties in this wonderful winter climate what the best bet is out of these three , taking in account I'd rather be a little cold and be able to grind out a decent turn than being stuck in a straight jacket.

QUIKSILVER IGNITE 6/5 Hooded Wetsuit

BILLABONG SOLUTION GOLD 6/5/4

RIP CURL ULTIMATE FIRESKIN 6/4

Thanks!!!

There is no escaping the straight jacket. Rip Curls have the crazy flex material though. But, that's all I've had while up here. Still, I surf often and the wettie has held up extremely well.

The excel 6mm and the oneill psyco 6mm are good suits too.
Or try a C-skin - basically the oneill psyco but cheaper.

Well whatever You do dont buy a billabong they suck qualitywise, their hoods dont fit well either.
Quik is longlasting. It seems Ripcurl have sorted out their seam problems. Someone told me they had problems with moisture levels in their factory a year or two back.

I use to have a oneill psyco 2, sold it. the hood was no good, got alot of water in it, and it was cold and stiff. Tryed both Rip Curl F-bomb and exel infinity. The F-bomb is super warm, almost to warm... got the exel and the fit is perfect for me also super warm.

Try a few and see whats best for you. I think Rip curl and exel both are on the top of the list. Havnt tryed or seen the new quciksilver suit. Agree with the billabong, had a 4.3 that was crap.

Surfa7..without any doubt at all, after having surfed in and tried nearly all the brands on the market, I have to say that the excel 654 that i bought has been the best wetsuit i have ever owned..going into the third full season now with the same wetty, not one single seam leak, fits my body shape with precision and is extremely warm..(like i can surf for up to 5+ hours in 2 deg water when it's minus and snowing out)
Excel have just come out with a new 654 that just won the 'cold water wetty of the year' award..it's a drylock system wetty with special boots, gloves, that match it locking out pretty much ALL water..i'll bet it's really fucken good mate..maybe a bit more pricey but who gives a shit it they last twice as long as other wetties and are twice as warm..hope that helps..

Well the new Xcel Infiniti Drylock comes only in 5/4/3 or thinner. Yeah, I know noone likes a smartass.

I will try to get hold of the West Lotus 6/5/4 a friend of mine used one during easter in Norway, he reckons it was even more flexy and warm than the Xcel.

The Billabong Solution Gold was also tested, but gave severe shoulder pain due to a flaw desing with the chest zip. The Gul got some good reviews and is widely used there, the hoodie is very good with small holes for the ear so you can hear more.

How does it work with size of the gloves and boots in the drylock? Do you order them with size on everything or do they have a one size fits all system?
