does anybody know where i can get a decent shortboard (new or used) for an upcoming trip to morocco. i'm talking about a board that can handle atlantic waves - ie something like a 6'4" rounded tail or squash. i'm living in stockholm - is there a surfshop somewhere here? or is it possible to get something in morocco around taghazoute? tack så jätte mycket!!!

I didnt see anything decent there 2 years ago..

lars (and clint)... there are a couple of shops (since more than two years ago) in tagha. I would say selection is restricted, not limited. if you're only going for a week or so you can rent fresh boards in a new (07) shop on the main street. hard to miss, tiny town.

tks for the tips. any idea on prices there - ie are they as bad as here? where i come from it's like 2500 for a beautiful custom board. 4500 for a new board seems crazy.

I think that alexander grilo and the boys and girls on lapoint cooperat with a shaper downt there...
maybe u could order a board in advance and pick it up there (taghazout)

well, u dont make a profit out of surfboards in sweden...

Dont be to sure about finding a good board in taghazout as none of the shops have any good distributors. As far as I´m concerned boards come and go totally randomly in that village. There is some strange politics behind it that make it hard for the shops to import boards the legal way, I was there this time of the year last year til decemeber and at that time i heard that boards still were imported with surfers in boardbags in sets of three to get through the custom or something.

So sometimes there is a lot of boards and sometimes the racks are empty...

hmm I've always been there jan/feb so possible there is more to choose from later half of the season (as surfers ditch their boards).
