Got a new board a while back, catches waves dead easy, but on the wave its a bit boring i.e. not as drivey and lively as my old boards, i asked for a different shape so i kind of was expecting this. But now when been alternating between boards im looking for more livelyness in my new board. So thinking changing fins, usually surf M5's (80kg and boards are 6'3's)

Thinking more rake and base...

TC aqualine or is it too stiff, shall maybe only just use a GMB or something?

or what u reckon...

what type of shape is that 6'3" (width/thickness/rocker/outline?)
and what sort of waves is it for?

Its my everyday board for beach to reef 2-6ft, i asked for medium arc turns and for a 13stone person.
I usually surf fat to medium heavy beachbreaks that easily closes out but that also occasional gets hollow so u want to get in early. It holds well and have enough speed but its not as lively and drive as the other board i.e. rail to rail.

Its 6'3,19", 2 1/2" , rocker is pretty medium and outline pretty standard. (the other 6'2 is a bit more refined, but catching waves is painful if ure in the wrong position)

I am still not sure I am gettin you, your break sounds like it throws a little of everything at you. How is your board different to the last one?


if your board is bigger, it seems like you might be underfinned a little. Depending on how big, maybe the GMB's are the call

Its basically slower rail to rail. Ill try bigger fins, like m7 and stuff.

if you put m7's in, keep the back fin an m5

is the tail wider? you might want a more upright fin anyways, K2.1 or TC aqualine (although the former is more for beaches and the aqualine more for perfect reefs)

Have a pair of occys so might just play around with those. Cheers.

btw you tried GOODS-1 yet?
