Who knows what happened on the beach against the camera guy. If you just got into a fight, in a foreign country, and some guy with a camera runs up to you and starts yelling you might be a bit defensive as well.
On top of everything Sunny was defending his friend AND his son. In my opinion Sunny did what he felt he had to do, and Jeremy just earned himself some set waves at Backdoor.
i say no more dumbster....you understand australian english on the video clip better then me and you can see a guy flailing his arms around saying 'i give up' while being choked better than me even if he did start he fight!....and even though i saw the film i admit i didnt see the whole scene (but neither did any one else on surfsverige, JUST WHAT YOU GAVE US!)
maybe sunny was defending his son...(probably was) and the guy filming sunny at the end WAS asking to get his hand broken(maybe)..

Whoooaaa!!! You guys are both brothers but you don't know it yet!! They say here in Tagazought "brothers from another mother" bos is bullshit and most of us are glad assbite sverre decided to get a life ( I guess and don't care one way or the other) I met Sunny several times last winter since he frequents Velzyland with family and friends (even on flat days) He's a very soft guy to get to know. I haven't looked at the video and wouldn't - why should I? i HATE fights - usually neither parties are is totally inocent in a conflict - there is always (?) a chance for one of the involved to be the hero. In otherwords STOP fighting. I think Ratman is (and has been) a hero in this respect, Dumbster - a forum like this one is potentially is one of the most uncommunicative forms of human interaction I know of. So give eachother room towards being heros and we might even find a new friend of two. In the water or out. sverre was a forum phenomonon that borderd (and crossed that border) on mental illness - we have probably witnessed several unsuccesfull attemps to re-invade the forum - which more or less coincides with the wishes of a majority of it's members. Hey for now, all i can say is that everything that has been said on the news and all the stories people hear are told in a different way which makes it look very bad. I just stood up for 16 years old Stone Garcia while a local surfer was getting aggressive with him. Next thing,everybody knows,he got aggressive with me, i defended myself and we went at each other fighting face to face all the way to the beach.Somebody told Stone’s dad,Sunny Garcia,that his son was in trouble so he ran down.Any parents would of done the same thing if their son were in trouble. Anyway,the ASP decided to take me out of the event because a new rule says that no violence should be tolerated in a professional event,i agree with that rule 100% but it wasn’t the case for me,i just defended myself while i was training in the contest area before my heat. People have to understand that family and friends are everything for me and i will never walk away from it (especially when it’s a under 18 boy ). I hate violence and i never get into any troubles like that. I love Australia and i have most of my best friends here. All the Burleigh boys have always been so nice to me so i won’t let this story change that. I’m so sad this story happened but i don’t regret anything,these things happen in life unfortunately and i will never let anyone walk thru me !

Jag hoppas verkligen att ASP låter Flores surfa i nästa tävling. Han har redan blivit avstängd från en tävling (vilket jag tycker är rätt) och han försvarade bara Garcia Jr och sedan sig själv. Men Sunny gjorde nog mycket mer än att försvara sig och det var inte första gången han visa sina korta nerver (kolla bara videon med Padaratz)
Och andra sidan var jag inte på plats så vet inte vad som egentligen hände... men våld löser ingenting.
Jag tycker är Jeremy är en surfare som inte får den respekt han förtjänar, lyssna bara på de australiensiska kommentatorerna på world touren. Han kritiseras ganska hårt och ofta, men hoppeligen blir det bättre nu när han vunnit pipeline:)

Now the whole story has come out what actually happened was that Sunny's son Stone was dropping in on everyone and i quote from Mark Aines (the guy Stone and Jeremy dropped in on who eventually got headlocked by Sunny)
"hi everyone, i am the guy who almost drowned in the video by that fuckhead sunny garcia. i wont press charges because it will drag on & cost me money & by the time its sorted out he will be gone anyway. his son was being a prick dropping in & telling us to fuck off as he dropped in on some of the locals & when we approached him he said my dad will kill u, then someone said his dad is sunny garcia & he boasted about it & that was that. i didnt want to argue or fight but then jeremy comes over & heats things up & then sunny turns up & then his neanderthal ex jail bird attitude bursted out which almost got me killed but im glad its on film, im glad the world saw what he did & let me be clear about something. ..this isnt over …neither for him or his son, their days are coming & if they stay here, they will be found & dealt with asap!"
Jeremy Flores was dropping in on everyone as well (well I guess he was training for the upcoming comp after being crowned pipe master)..
What happened was that there were words between Mark Aines and Jeremy Flores after Jeremy had dropped in on him and JEREMY PADDLED OVER TO THE GUY HE DROPPED IN ON AND STARTED THE FIGHT.(threw the first punch)..Stone was not involved in the issue except for the fact that the words between Jeremy and mark had some stuff to do with Stone dropping in etc as well..
Anyway Jeremy and Mark end up in waist deep water and are having a fistycuff brawl that even Mark Aines says wasn't really too savage..(ie he had a bump on his cheek and Jeremy got a small cut on his lip) all of a sudden Sunny turns up and takes Mark FROM BEHIND in a headlock when Stone is just standing by watching and never had anything to do with the original fight....
One wonders if sunny really should have been there involved at all..BUT
here's the funny part
Sunny gets no reprimand and Jeremy Flores gets banned from the contest...I guess it's good that Jeremy gets banned cause he DID actually start the fight and WAS dropping in on the locals...one wonders how Sunny can get nothing..(still i understand that he thought his son was in trouble)..

Ännu en gång har vi storyn från 2 olika synvinklar, vilken man väljer att tro på är till var och en att bestämma! men med tanke på alla wannabes och allmänt fula duudes på detta forum, och at alla är allmänt rädda för lokals så är de nog givet vilket de flesta kommer tro på hehehe. Måste dock ge dig lite cred rat attack för du verkar vara den enda medlemmen på detta forum som har stått upp på en våg som inte ligger i götakanal. Vf du vart medlem på detta forum är dock ett mysterium hahahaha

För samma anledning som du är medlem gubben ...det är minus grader ute och bottenhavet har frusit..kom tillbaks från en hemma resa till oz 4 veckor sedan och får inte godkänt från kärringen att sticka till norge eller utomlands för att surfa i några veckor till..annars blir hon sur föratt hon måste slita med 2 barn hemma själv för ofta !! :-D..MEN snart sticker jag innan jag blir GALEN hahahah aha

Dumbster...Jag utan tvekan har surfat längst av alla här på surfsverige ..kan inte garanterar det men kanske dem största vågor också...jag skriver inte det här för att säga hur bra JAG är men tvärtom..
jag skrivar det här föratt..jag tycker att det är obetydligt hur många/stora vågor folk har surfat på..om de är duktiga att surfa eller kass osv...visst blir det mycket skräp som är skrivit här på surfsverige...
MEN det är inte poängen här...dem här medlemar på surfsverige är SURF STOKAD surfare..om de inte kan surfa är orelevant till mig..vad är relevant är att de har en passion för någonting som är speciell..någonting som tar över ens liv..en livstyl..
surfing i sverige är i utvecklingsfasen..inte många surfar, få är super duktig,, MEN ALLA jag har träffat har varit väldigt trevliga stokade surfare...
kommer ihåg att vintern här är lång och vi som är totallt surfberoende blir tokiga så det blir sämre och sämre skit på sajten tills isen smälter och vågorna kommer igen.. keep smilin dude...
